³ They say, ‘Haven’t our houses been recently rebuilt? This city is a pot,^(A) and we are the meat in it.’^(B)

¹¹ This city will not be a pot^(A) for you, nor will you be the meat in it; I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel.

² As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires,^(A) but rather for the will of God.

¹⁶ For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh,^(A) the lust of the eyes,^(B) and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
